Golf Academy

The University of Texas Golf Academy is the home of both the Men's and Women's Golf Programs, but the academy serves as more than just a home for the programs. The Academy is also equipped to help your game by working with our professional staff. We have sole access to the middle bay of the academy for giving instruction and conducting professional club fitting sessions. Each bay is equipped with the best technology for golf instruction and use of the V1 professional coaching system. This system allows for video of your golf swing from up to 4 angles and can be used to identify key sequences in each swing you make. We have the ability to identify certain areas you can work on to improve your consistency and overall game. The system is equipped with up to 200 swings from professional tour players that can be compared to your key sequences in a frame by- frame view or by overlaying their sequence with yours. The system includes the computer screen, a 60 inch Plasma wall mount screen, and a floor monitor to improve your ability to see the results while in the playing position. In addition, we have studied the best teaching aids in the market to aid in your ability to feel and train your muscles in your development. We can also help in the fitting of your putter as the loft can play a huge factor in your ability to consistently roll the ball to the target.

Each bay is equipped with a Vector Launch Monitor. The Launch Monitor gathers all the critical data about your ball flight to help provide you with the best-fit shaft you can play in your woods. We have a full complement of equipment available to demo on the Monitor until the best shaft and driver combination are identified for each player. Demo Equipment this season available in the bay for custom fitting includes Nike, Titleist, Cobra, Taylor Made, Callaway, Mizuno, Ping, and Cleveland Golf. There are also irons fit sessions available from each of these companies as well. A professional fitting is a standard when considering not only new equipment, but also checking to see if you are playing equipment that truly suits your play.

In each bay there is a $25,000 expenditure in the best technology available not only for collegiate level and tour players but equipment that can be used to help your game in more ways than just traditional fitting and instruction. Hope to see in the academy soon, we know you can get the most out of your performance.
